QIIB has announced the launch of its latest
contactless payment solutions- QMP eWallet, giving clients the ability to enjoy
an instant payment service inside Qatar through the Bank’s mobile application,
round-the-clock, and without the need for any card or cash.
Digital e-wallets are a safe and reliable
payment solution, introduced as part of the electronic payment services and
solutions approved by Qatar Central Bank (QCB) to encourage the current dynamic
trend of digital economy, increase the security of financial transactions and
reduce dependence on cash payments.
This new digital service constitutes a
pioneering step forward in the digitisation of various kinds of payment
transactions, as well as an ideal solution for various categories of retail and
corporate clients.
Customers may subscribe to this service
through the QIIB mobile application, to benefit from many advantages, including
instant fund transfers within wallet accounts, receiving funds from other
eWallet accounts, and making transfers from eWallet account to a bank account,
round the clock, without any hindrance or delays.
Moreover, non-QIIB customers can also
benefit from this service by following specific procedures and visiting one of
the bank’s multiple branches across Qatar.
This makes QIIB the first Islamic bank in
Qatar to offer the QMP eWallet service to both non-customers and customers.

transactions much easier, as payments are made using a mobile phone and a phone
number only, without any bank card. Customers can now make easy, fast and
secure transfers either within their wallet account or directly to a bank
account, or to a mobile wallet. They will also get instant notifications about
their eWallet account activity on their mobile with SMS banking service and
through e-statements available on our mobile application”.
Al Meer invited customers to benefit from
this service and other integrated services provided by QIIB, which are offered
as part of the bank’s effort to keep pace with the growing demand for digital
banking services and contactless solutions to adapt its services to customers’
expectations and aspirations.
